Dana Elaine Owens, better than Queen Latifah the US, is a rapper and actress. in film, music and television, Queen Latifah has received 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards (two Image Awards), a Grammy Award and six additional Grammy nominations, and nods to her Emmy Award. Queen Latifah's parents were Lancelot and Rita Owens. They were both police officers. Rita was a Newark New Jersey teacher who worked at Irvington High School.
